Water Reticulation : Tshidilamolomo Village gets an Upgrade

The Executive Mayor of Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality, Cllr Tshepo Justice Makolomakwa remain committed to the NDP 2030 objective to ensure that communities get access to clean and safe water.

In an effort to accelerate service delivery in our rural communities, Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality launched an “R 11.3m Water Reticulation Upgrade” Tshidilamolomo Village in the Ratlou Local Municipality.

As a Water Service Authority, the District is mandated with improving the lives of its communities by providing them with quality drinking water, thus the importance of upgrading and installing new infrastructures to access water as the existing water supply storage capacity is insufficient to meet the demand by the currently increasing population.

During the Project Launch, Cllr Gilbert Mathakathaka, MMC for Public Works and Basic Services emphasised that “ this village is one of the villages in the District that is faced with ageing and inadequate water infrastructure, therefore in improving the distribution of water, the appointed contractor, Mbako Project and Trading is tasked to erect 100kl steel tank and fencing; install 65 communal taps and refurbish existing steel tank”

Kgosi Lekoko and the Ward Councilllor, Ms Seane assured the Municipality that this eight (8) month MIG Project that seeks to also create 15 local jobs will be fully supported with no destruction until its completion in May 2020.

Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality in promoting a coordinated approach in implementation of development initiatives is working together with Ratlou Local Municipality and the Local Traditional Authorities to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
