NMMDM to spend R129 Million on Zeerust Waste Water Treatment Plant
Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality has awarded the community of Zeerust in Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality an early Christmas present by resuscitating the Zeerust Waste Water Treatment Works through Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) amounting to
R 129 m. for a period of 18 months.
The Member for Mayoral Committee for Public Works and Basic Services, Cllr. Gilbert Mathakathaka launched the project and introduced the Contractor to Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality as beneficiaries in an effort to work together going forward as a team and ensure that the project is a success.
The description of the project is to subsequently deal with the deteriorating infrastructure that is inadequate but currently being operating as the waste water treatment works, this plant is one of the key infrastructure that are prioritized as it services the entire Zeerust and surrounding villages
Through the project 20 jobs will be provided to unemployed community members for a period of 18 months.
CMS WATER ENGINEERING has been appointed to amongst others refurbish Inlet works, Sludge Drying Beds, and Construction of buildings to name but a few.
NMMDM is trying to fast-tracking service delivery and hopes to improve the livelihood of the community of Zeerust and restore the dignity of our people.
